DREAMS
is a body of work exploring the intersection of memory, emotion, and subconscious imagery. Through six individual approaches, we navigate the fluid and fragmented nature of dreams and how they distort reality, resurface forgotten moments, and blur the line between the real and the imagined.
Each artist offers a unique perspective, shaping a collective experience that invites the audience to step into the depths of the dream world and explore how we perceive it.

“Dreams of Nightmares” is a selection of artworks exploring the concept of fear in my works since 2021. The idea originated with extensive research and an essay written in December 2024. Using mixed media techniques including photography, printmaking and performance I research the themes of horror through my emotions and experiences. Focusing on the uncanny, I try to reach the subconscious and create an intuitive representation of how I experience the dreamy world of nightmares and fears.
My focus is on the viewer's experience. Your thoughts, associations, experiences and feelings are what makes my art full. I aim to evoke emotions and trigger memories. Drawing my inspiration from the Japanese theme of horror present in Otaku culture, I explore the line work and freedom of deformation and abnormality. Fearmakers including Junji Ito, Hajime Isayama and Masaaki Nakayama made me experience a perfectly balanced roughness of fear. Unhuman, discomfort, disturbance, disbelief or daydreaming.
The main two pieces, called “Shinigami”,”死神”, are linocut prints directly inspired by the Japanese religion, the creatures of darkness called Shinigami. Through exploration of these spirits I aimed to reach the darkness of the dream world and consider them as a part of the Nightmare universe. Preserving human resemblance, facial deformations mimic the subliminal alterations we experience during dreaming. Eyes are watching every step.
